What is conservative dentistry?

Conservative and restorative dentistry allows us to prevent, stop and cure dental caries in all its phases. The treatment of dental caries depends on the phase of evolution in which it is:
– Surface caries are treated by means of seals: the affected area is cleaned and restored with the latest generation materials such as composite resins.
– Deep cavities with nerve involvement are treated with endodontics, which involves removing the nerve from the tooth.

Benefits of conservative dentistry

  • Keep a healthy mouth
  • Eliminate the pain and discomfort caused by bacteria from dental caries.
  • Prevent tooth loss from tooth decay.

FAQ's

Who is it for?

All patients are recommended to perform a professional dental cleaning or tartrectomy at least once a year. It is also necessary to perform an annual check to check that there are no tooth decay or other dental alterations and, in this case, they are treated.

How long do the fillings last?

Fillings are long-term solutions. However, according to the conditions of each patient, the degree of destruction of their teeth or the wear to which they have been subjected, can be broken. In this case it will be essential that the caries be treated again.

Can a tooth hurt after a filling?

If the injury was very deep, the nerve can become inflamed and discomfort. In these cases, you may feel tooth sensitivity for the next 3-5 days after the filling. If these discomforts do not subside, go to the dental clinic.

Is it better to remove the tooth before doing a root canal?

No, it is always advisable to keep your own teeth but, if your dentist considers that it is not possible to save the tooth with the endodontics, you will have to extract the tooth.
